Difficult to set up good for power strips and surge protectors

When I first received the product, I connected it to the app for the first time and it was very easy. But when I tried to pair it with my Echo Dot, it used the same skill I used for the other device and it didn't show up. I tried uninstalling the annhome app to connect it to the same app as for my other devices, but that didn't work. So I downloaded the annhome app again and tried to connect again but now it won't connect. I've tried several times and it still won't pair.
