They are smaller than normal ice cube trays but make the same number of cubes and the same size. Four of them take up less space in the freezer, and lids allow you to put food on them. The cubes pop out easily with a slight twist, and if some of them don't pop out, pressing down on the bottom will pop them out. Very happy with this choice, they are exactly as described by the company. Of course, you can buy ice cube trays for a dollar from Dollar Tree or any other store, but I think they're worth the extra dollars.
