Great resource section!

Of all the books I've recently bought on the art of felting, none apart from this one gave specific information about the material wool. Jenn Giles' book has a wonderful materials section that I found very informative. Especially in terms of why some types of wool might not be suitable for different projects etc. Jenne explains how each type of wool behaves and how it interacts with other materials you might want to use in your work like special wool, silk. fibers and plant fibers. She also manages to enlighten the student without removing the "magic" that comes from holding your design together and making it into one fabric! When I started this journey of learning the craft, I looked at this book and found it to be too "advanced" for me. I was wrong! It has some nice photos of what the artists have done with felts (including the author) but has very good project instructions that can be easily made by a beginner. For each project in the book, she adds some information about the next steps in creating an expanded version of the project; show what is still possible with a little more effort and practice. In fact, I liked Jenn's book so much that I contacted her to sign up for a class. I was lucky enough to catch her in a one to one lesson before her busy season started and I am now more confident with materials and tools, to do some pretty fun stuff. that it's too "advanced" for me.
