Warm Dry Comfortable Snowboard Jacket

I'm a tall and stocky/flabby dad: 6'3" and 315lbs+. I still walk my dog 4 miles a day and run my 8- Year olds 7+ days/season all over the local ski slope. But finding soft goods that fit my body type is not an easy task.Luckily Columbia sews a lot of ski gear economically. It was my first time skiing in Vail in a day. But my old (2011) Boulder Gear jacket was showing its age and mileage and getting in the way of my shredder game so I ordered this jacket and took it with me.March conditions were Prime: 30*+ and not a cloud in the sky. The jacket kept me dry and wicked my moisture well, the vents stayed open all day.I can see where other reviewers have complained about the warmth of the outfit: it's not overly chic he insulation filled. But I don't think it should be the only warmth I insulate in 20 days of frost. With a relaxed fit, a comfortable fit and a great range of motion, it's perfect for layering. Put a thick fleece between this jacket and your base layer and you'll be good and toasty. I'm 41 years old, I've been snowboarding since I was 13, I don't do 30-foot spans in the park anymore, but I can shred Vermont in single-digit temperatures, and when I can't, I'm the best mountain-skier workout in Alaska : the robust and affordable ski jacket for alpine skiing.
