Like many people I have gotten water in our basement due to the recent storms and this was in the hope that it would be an early warning system. I tried it on a flat plate and it disappeared as soon as I added water; it would stop and then the horn would go off every 5 minutes. Not the loudest signal I've heard, but for the most part you'll hear it if you're within 4-5 feet. The only thing I couldn't get started with was the app for my phone; just no connection. I'm not sure if my iPhone is the problem or not. Large size to fit in a small crawl space where water gets in. Hope I don't have to use it!
