Subscription request not disclosed

I bought this device to warn of a water leak in a country house. While they were easy to set up, I found that it seemed like I would have to purchase a new subscription service to get all the leak notifications. If you're not a fan of subscription services, I would suggest looking for an alternative device.

The alarm clock works well but is not very loud

Like many people I have gotten water in our basement due to the recent storms and this was in the hope that it would be an early warning system. I tried it on a flat plate and it disappeared as soon as I added water; it would stop and then the horn would go off every 5 minutes. Not the loudest signal I've heard, but for the most part you'll hear it if you're within 4-5 feet. The only thing I couldn't get started with was the app for my phone; just no connection. I'm not sure if my iPhone is the

Won't pair with my Wi-Fi.

I won't say this wireless water sensor isn't working, but I've tried and tried to connect it to my Wi-Fi and I just can't get it. The app was easy to install and pretty basic, but the paper instructions that came with the device are useless unless you're using a big magnifying glass. I would advise the manufacturer to invest in a larger piece of paper. I have connected many electronic devices to my internet 2.4 (cameras in particular) and they all work well enough that I can safely say it's not

Double click the reset button

I followed the instructions to connect this sensor to Smart Life and the part about holding the reset button for 5 seconds just didn't work for me. I tried double-clicking the reset button with a small pen and the sensor went into pairing mode. After that it's easy. The water sensors are only on the bottom of this sensor, unlike the Smart Thing sensors I use elsewhere. This sensor also requires a little more water to activate than the Smart Things sensor. I mainly use these water sensors underโ€ฆ

Suitable for home sensors and alarms

This is a water detector that uses the Smartlife app to connect to Wi-Fi. I already had the Smartlife app installed so the device connected easily and without any problems. I didn't even have to enter a long WiFi password. The app itself has many features. It also has the ability to trigger a smart scene based on the state of the detector. For example, let's say it detects water. It can be set to run a pump (connected to a Wi-Fi smart socket) until water is detected. To me this can be a goodโ€ฆ

Installation: Took four attempts to discover. The sensor got out of pairing mode before it was detected, so I had to try multiple times. The best way to do this is to download and run the app, then navigate to the room you want to use it in - this way you'll get accurate WiFi info. Follow the prompts, select and set up the 2.4 network. Then test it in a small amount of water. The alarm clock in the app is loud - you can't miss it. The app does not need to be running to receive the alarm - itโ€ฆ

This water leak detector was a failure from the start. Firstly, it was a bit tricky to set up as the instructions that came with the sensor don't exactly match what's going on in the Smart Life app. I think the app has probably been updated since the instructions were printed and they haven't been revised. Once set up, I followed the prompts to pair it with Alexa and thought it would be nice to receive a notification from Alexa when the sensor detects a leak. However, when you try to set upโ€ฆ
