I followed the instructions to connect this sensor to Smart Life and the part about holding the reset button for 5 seconds just didn't work for me. I tried double-clicking the reset button with a small pen and the sensor went into pairing mode. After that it's easy. The water sensors are only on the bottom of this sensor, unlike the Smart Thing sensors I use elsewhere. This sensor also requires a little more water to activate than the Smart Things sensor. I mainly use these water sensors under the valves in sinks and toilets in case the line bursts. I put down a paper towel to catch the water and placed the sensor on the paper towel. This sensor detects a wet paper towel as quickly as any of the sensors I've tried. Smart Life detects the leak and warns. You can buy SMS or phone alerts if you want. Battery life is 99% out of the box. There is a plastic tab to protect the battery from discharging before use.
