The fast dam works! Real world experience!

Last year during Hurricane Florence we had 5 inches of water in our garage. This year with Hurricane Dorian I decided to take it a step further and use the Quick Dam product in addition to the vinyl. Not a drop of water in the garage this time. I am delighted with this product. Installation was easy and I presoaked the dam as suggested. We had 90 knots of wind and the Quick Dam stayed in place. Much easier to load than sandbags. I definitely recommend Quick Dam as an affordable and effectiveโ€ฆ

fragile things. Never drive over it.

I really didn't make my money on this thing. Once it absorbs water it has a wonderful hydraulic problem where pressure anywhere will cause the seams or gaps between the tires running over it to burst. Some idiot ran over mine on purpose even though it was completely off my porch. It exploded in five places, spilling sticky innards all over the lawn and earth. I could have salvaged it by cutting the 17 foot length into pieces, letting them dry and sewing up the open ends. But the effort isโ€ฆ

The best invention!

Just before we left for July vacation, it occurred to me that we (Arizona) were getting ready for a pretty active monsoon season. Apparently the Lowes and Home Depot stores are located elsewhere, and they have no idea it's raining in Arizona. Heavy rain. And our pools are too close to our home. I literally got in my car in the Home Depot parking lot and bought a 17" x 6" Quick Dam barrier from Revain. BOOM. Ready. Delivered the next day! How I love Revain "We laid this border โ€“ flat โ€“ along our

ideal for quick and easy repairs

I bought this product to keep water out of my house. During Florida summer and hurricane season, my backyard tends to flood and spill out onto my front porch. When the rain is really heavy, the water levels get even crazier and my bottom gets wet, the Quick Dam flood defense is my alternative to using traditional sandbags for water protection. The fast perineal barrier works by inflating when it gets wet. Simply place it where you want it to stay out of the water and when the water starts toโ€ฆ

Bought for one application but ended up using it for another!

I bought 2 of these to use in our garage in our new house. The wall has cracks and water seeps in when it rains. Well I'm very glad I didn't use them for their intended purpose. Behind the door of our basement is a stairwell with a drain. Little did we know the drain was clogged (we just moved this week!) and I came home with 3 inches of water on the basement floor, flowing from room to room. I was able to use Quick Dams to divert/direct incoming water to a drain throughout the room while I was

Not as good as before. But still cheap insurance

Let me start by saying this is my 3rd time buying this particular brand of water seal so I can't hit too hard. but it's not what it used to be. Our first Quick Dam (17ft) lasted almost 2 1/2 years and during those years had many cycles from dry to wet and back, combined with the back and forth on the paved driveway (we use it to push rainwater through the door from prevent). our two car garage) and although we were advertised as drivable we chose NOT to risk it. Eventually, however, it wore out

Pros
  • Compact and lightweight, keep until needed

Quick Deployment with Efficient Use - UPDATE 10/2/16

I bought (3) this plus other sizes of Quick Dam before rainy weather to keep my home dry to protect against possible water damage. We live in an area next to a river which is unfortunately flooded (this was not announced before buying the house and once when we were staying here the air duct system under the house broke down). Last time we had 6 inches of water in our garage seeping onto our backyard. This led to mold problems and other repairs. To avoid these problems this year and not havingโ€ฆ
