5 stars with a few caveats

Installation: Took four attempts to discover. The sensor got out of pairing mode before it was detected, so I had to try multiple times. The best way to do this is to download and run the app, then navigate to the room you want to use it in - this way you'll get accurate WiFi info. Follow the prompts, select and set up the 2.4 network. Then test it in a small amount of water. The alarm clock in the app is loud - you can't miss it. The app does not need to be running to receive the alarm - it will be sent to your phone after you install the app as a "Reminder" - you will hear the alarm and see the notification "Water Leak Reminder: Water Leak Detected". From the moment the leak is detected and the sensor triggers/beeps, it takes about a minute for the application to alert you. Warnings: The sensor only beeps for a few seconds. then stop. Therefore, if your device (phone, tablet, etc.) runs out of power, you will not receive any warning other than the sensor's initial beeps. A piercing piezo alarm clock would be nice. Not compatible with Alexa (etc.). Doesn't claim, but deserves a mention. The app looks flimsy once installed. It is not from the App Store and requires many permissions during installation. Summary: The sensor works well and works on about 3/32 of the water. It works quickly and the squeaking of the sensor can be heard nearby - not that loud. Maybe a quiet cricket level? But it works and does its job. You can name the sensor so if you have several, you know where the leak is.
