This is normal for a budget or mid range binocular. You can adjust the width or spread of the two lenses to match the width or spread of your eyes. The right eyepiece is adjustable to help you focus better if your eyes are a little different. It takes some adjustment and work to get them right for your eyes and reduce double vision. Once you are in focus, the center of 50-60% of the image comes into focus and then slowly loses focus towards the outer edges. A photo of a mobile phone I've included exaggerates that a bit, but makes it clear. Also where he wants to clamp the eyepiece, that part of the eyepiece is flexible so it can be easily removed. There is also an overlay that you don't want to use as it will slide off and your phone will fall over. Also, there's no adjustment of the phone's proximity to the lens (just up and down, side-to-side). There is a cover on the front that can be unscrewed for use with a binocular tripod (not included). This also holds the front lens cap straps. The included straps are more like a backpack, which may look weird but is also nice to wear around your neck for long periods of time. If you wear a jacket, it will not look strange to others. There are also 2 quick release buckles so you can easily share it with someone else without a belt. It's not light amplification or night vision, it's just good light. Overall, this is a good buy for the current price of around $30 at the time of this review.
