We have problems with small food moths (aka Indian flour moths). They lay hundreds of eggs at a time, making them particularly difficult to eradicate completely once they've established a colony in your home. They can eat through plastic and are even included in the product packaging at the factory. In my case, they quickly got used to every paper bag in the closet and ended up throwing the entire $50 in the trash. Also, the entire closet needed to be emptied, cleaned with bleach, and all items thoroughly washed. Obviously this is something you don't want to repeat twice. I've read that cedar wood is a great repellent for this type of moth and these rings were very effective in keeping the few remaining stragglers out of this room until they were eventually taken out by pheromone traps. Unlike chemicals, cedar is completely safe, which is certainly important when children are around. After hanging half a dozen of these rings on the wire shelves inside, I haven't seen a single moth inside since. (see photo) They come in a ziplock pouch and will stay fresh until ready to use. They smell pleasant and not at all harsh. I can't detect any cedar smell transferring to towels and various other paper and fabric items, which I think is a huge plus. However, if you want a stronger flavor, all you have to do is sand them down a bit. Finally, this modest price makes them more than worth the money. As mentioned, I definitely don't want to repeat this fight, so they will be there all the time!
