Review on Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice 2 195/55 R15 85T winter by Janis Saikovskis ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A very high-quality product, I take it not for the first time.

205/55R16. Departure Repeatedly for two winters. First pair of slippers ever! When I made the purchase, I was petrified that it would be a waste of money. The worries were groundless. It's perfect for using in snow porridge. The first two winters, nobody dug up the parking lot; everyone just used the tires. Drive as if on dry pavement when it rains. They perform better on the "black ice" than spiked tires do on asphalt. The sin-studding phenomenon of slippage has almost entirely vanished at the outset. There are no gripes about driving on icy and snow-packed roads. It's all really straightforward and logical. That's about all there is to it for typical urban life, with occasional travels to the surrounding area. Compared to playing on spikes, this environment couldn't be more peaceful or relaxing. The necessity of constantly checking tire pressure is one of the drawbacks. If the pressure drops by less than 0.2 or 0.3 atm below what is advised by the manufacturer, the car will become rolling, fuzzy, and amorphous, like a cow on ice. The second issue is the thin walls. The wife hooked the curb's corner, and the outcome is captured in the snapshot. In contrast, it's highly improbable that a tire would hold up here. The third disadvantage is that it is up for debate. In the initial second of an emergency stop at speeds over 60 km/h, it may seem as though the car is not slowing down. And yet, it's not. Frequent and predictable braking occurs in the vehicle. This is a totally mental phenomenon. Permit me to sum up. I highly recommend these tires. There will be no comeback to spikes from me. A automobile traveling 90 km/h on four studded tires removes 24 grams of asphalt per kilometer, just so you know. Where do you believe the rutting on the streets of your city originates from, by the way?

Pros
  • They are: + Silent + Comfortable + Great for Paddling in Snow and Mud * Performs Well on Ice * Performs Even Better on Wet Pavement * Clearly Maintains a Given Course * The rate of wheel slip at ignition has decreased . Do not ruin the asphalt by sawing ruts in it; this is how anti-lock brake and electronic stability program calibration is done at the factory.
Cons
  • Tire pressure should be checked regularly, and the sidewalls seem to be failing under emergency braking at speeds exceeding 60 km/h.
