Review on ๐Ÿ’ก Upgrade Your Interior Lighting with StarLights BL-3003 Dual LED Ceiling Fixture Replacement by Steve Yatnalkar

Fastening quality, but.

On closer inspection, it becomes clear that this lamp was originally designed to work with 194 incandescent lamps. These lights were newly equipped with LED panels. The new LED panels are underdeveloped in my opinion. Inside the large light boxes there is space for additional LEDs. The cost of adding a few more LEDs would be minimal. The plastic shades on this product are from old incandescent bulbs and make absolutely no sense on this LED model. In the center of the cover is a large "magnifying glass" that amplifies the light from a 194 incandescent bulb. This cover is utterly useless and out of place with a flat panel LED array. The cover specially developed for the LED panel ensures better light output and even light distribution. As another reviewer mentioned, this fixture is large and hangs 1/2" lower from the ceiling than the fixture it replaced (1 3/4" deep). If someone using an RV now "just" turns off the lights, that extra 1/2 inch of depth could be a problem. The current draw for this light is only about 0.315A at 12.8V. (A standard incandescent bulb draws about 2A at 12.8V.) Starlights are a very efficient light source. !IMO, the light output of this device is just "reasonable". The lamp is made of heavy plastic. It looks like it should hold up well. This light has the added bonus of an easy access compartment to store small "values" such as rings, money etc. EDIT: I've added a "customer image" of the light fixture with the covers removed to better illustrate what I'm tempted to say. You have to find this "other thing" yourself.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No power
