The pump is awesome. - Fuel system

Works great. We use it to pump old oil out of fryers in our restaurant. If you've done this job before, you know it's one of the dirtiest and most time-consuming jobs: place buckets or pots under the fryer and let the water in, then take the buckets to the trash can outside. Couldn't bring myself to buy one of the $1200+ electric pumps when you can make your own for a fraction of the cost. We took an old shopping cart and attached the pump to the infant carrier with cable ties. Then place the old car battery in the carriage under the seat. The pump uses alligator clips to attach it to the battery. We also installed a small motorcycle style charger on the battery so when not in use we plug in the charger and it's always charged. Then we put two empty oilers (cubes) in the cart and fill them with used oil. Then he rolls everything out, sucks it out of the cubes and shoots at the oil tank. Light. The only downside is that the rubber hose that comes with it is more of a starting point and should be adjusted depending on what you want to do with it. We took a 36 inch piece of rigid PVC pipe and attached it to a rubber hose on the suction side. Easier to wrestle with a long, straight hose than a coiled hose when trying to vacuum. However, it worked well for the side of the pump that went to the handle. When you're sucking out of a keg, you absolutely need a hard pipe on the suction side. DO NOT use this pump for gasoline or flammable liquids. The battery will spark here and there, which can cause an explosion.
