You really need a good solid hard floor

This scale recommends use on a hard and level surface and I think it's a must. Unfortunately, there are too many carpets on my floor before I can make repairs. With my previous scales, I was able to place them on a thin carpet to get accurate readings, but any carpet really seems to knock this scale off. If you want the scale to be really kind to you and drastically underestimate your weight, then this is what you need! I have a small area of subfloor in the basement so I tried that too but I don't think the floor is level enough so it still doesn't work exactly. I've tried putting a hard surface on the carpet under the scale, but that didn't work either. Because of this I think it's really difficult for me to get an accurate reading. When I step on it, the scale goes up and down for a long time before settling to a weight that often doesn't feel all that accurate. I suppose if you had a good hard floor you wouldn't have as many problems with it. The scale itself looks very nice. The display is bright and easy to read. It was easy to set up. Connecting to my phone and Fitbit account was also very easy and all information transferred well. The app clearly shows your weight and BMI and even has the option to show your progress on a handy chart. I was a bit frustrated when I realized that the app shows points for measuring body fat, muscle mass, body water, visceral fat, bone mass, and BMR, but doesn't give you a way to measure these things.
