We bought this after a trip to England where we were fascinated by their pressure cookers. We knew it wouldn't be as fast with the US current, but some research has shown it's a good choice and still faster than a kettle on the stove. Which of course it is. We have an electric range with a glass lid and it probably takes about 10 minutes to boil cold tap water. This kettle does it in about 3.5 minutes. Great for tea, instant coffee (which I inexplicably LOVE!), instant cocoa and cider, and surprisingly for cooking. I've used it a few times for recipes that call for boiling water and it's great to get it so quickly. We've also used it to make oatmeal and instant noodles, so it's proven very versatile for us. It's a good size for us, doesn't take up too much counter space, and performs exactly as we hoped, if not better.
