Updated December 3, 2013: It's getting harder and harder to get waterbed accessories locally so I'm really grateful to Revain for having Revain, it gives RPS and other consumables. A waterbed can tell you that over time you will get air/gas pockets which contribute to annoying sloshing, especially on a fully articulated waterbed like mine. A waterbed air conditioner reduces these deposits. But that's not all that makes a good product. This will help support the plastic of the waterbed so it doesn't become stiff or leak. My mattress is still flexible and soft, so I think the plasticizers and vinyl preservative might do the trick. Since I've been using the RPS Water Mattress Conditioner, the air in the mattress has reduced significantly. Now I have to "burp” to bed much less often. Since it's one of my least favorite activities, it's a blessing! For making my life a little better, RPS gets 5 stars! Hope this helps someone.
