I wanted to love this little straightener and take it with me on my upcoming trip as I travel a lot and it would not only make my hair care easier (one product instead of two) but also less packaging. Unfortunately it didn't really deliver. It curled well, but I had a few issues with it: no temperature control and it gets very hot. I'm afraid it might damage my hair. It tugged at my hair. Since the shaft is rather short, hair can easily get caught in the clamping part. And more importantly, as you can see in the picture (hope you can see the light shining through the middle), the plates don't fully touch when you squeeze them together, so straightening your hair is pretty much useless. My hair is curly so it just made a relaxed frizzy curl as the plates don't touch. Right after that I tried the Chi straightener and it straightened my hair. This wouldn't be a suitable replacement for my current straightener and it's not a very good curling iron so I'll use the ones I already have. Guess I'll have to send this one back. Really disappointed because it sounded so good in the reviews and is amazing as a concept but didn't deliver
