There are some cheap products that don't work very well but I've never had a product that was worse than not having such a thing. I have a nice $500 Pioneer stereo. During the move I lost the AM and FM antenna cables that came with the kit. I was still able to catch local stations without them but there was a bit of interference so thought I'd buy this to improve the signal. I thought WRONG! But that's not all. Continue reading. The first unit I received was clearly a return item that someone returned to Revain even though I had paid for a new unit. It was missing an AC adapter, so I contacted Revain.com for a replacement. I told them they sent me a used device and that I would like a new, unopened device. So Revane sent me another squad. Guess what? Aha! It was also a previously open return. But this one had an AC adapter, so I decided to give it a try. I plugged it in and turned on my stereo, BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT! was super loud static. I thought I connected it wrong so I turned it off and swapped the wires. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! So I left my stereo on and just unplugged the cords, the buzzing stopped and my local station got loud with the usual little hiss. I reconnect the wires to Buzzz! I tried moving the base of the antenna to every possible position, but it was just a big buzz. ATTENTION! Obviously many people have bought and returned these devices and Revain.com is selling them as NEW. not like open boxes. Save your money and don't buy this item. This is completely useless and will actually work worse than if you didn't have an antenna at all. I have a $5 store radio that picks up stations just fine, so I know it's not a reception problem.
