This is my second pair and this time I've opted for a longer sock with tighter compression. I have localized swelling on both legs, but the left leg is worse and my doctor prescribed me a compression tube. However, when I called the medical supply store for pricing, they told me the hose could cost as much as $75 for a single pair. I mean I already had a pair of Sockwells and was looking for a knee length pair. I'm a woman but I bought men's socks because I have large calves and although I had trouble putting them on the first time, they fit perfectly. I wore them to work on a 12 hour night shift and not once have the socks slipped or slipped. Also, my legs and feet never got overheated and my socks never choked on my ankles, which caused pain when worn for long periods. I am satisfied and will buy again. My only disappointment is that I wish Sockwell sold more neutral styles, I wear a uniform to work and my employer requires plain socks with no graphics.
