This toaster seems to do everything we need it to do and more. Mechanically it heats up evenly, trays work well. Two problems: controls are not consistent or obvious. I wonder if they have UX designers testing or defining these products? In some cases you turn the dial and then press the button, in other cases you have to set the time and temperature by clicking the bottom wheel, which isn't obvious. Once you've started cooking, you can't change the time except by stopping and restarting the process. Some modes require preheating, but then you have to press the start button to continue. I just want to make a toast or warm something up in between. Too much interaction required. The biggest safety hazard is that the metal bar at the top of the door gets hot during cooking and is then very close to the handle which is on the counter when the door is open so you could easily burn yourself. your finger. My wife and I both did it. My 6 year old son loves to open the door when the bell rings so we have to be careful not to burn him. A bit of silicone on the top of the door would have made it a lot more secure. We considered a double door model, but it was too big to fit on our countertop or under cabinets (standard height). how it works seems to work fine.
