Math for each portion: - We bought a 6lb portion. $15 bag of instant tapioca pearls from Tea Zone. We use 1.5 ounces. (dried) 16 ounces tapioca pearls. one serving of drink, so there are 64 servings per 6 pounds. Pocket. $15/$64 per serving = $0.23 per serving. We bought 2 8oz. Loose leaf tea bags $8.99 each. Every 8 ounces. The package contains 68 cups of tea. Since we are using 2 16 ounce cups of tea. Bubble Tea drink that corresponds to 34 servings. $8.99/34 servings = $0.26/serving - $0.23/bean serving + $0.26/tea serving = $0.49/bubble tea serving - ($5 - $0.49) / 5 $ x 100 = 90.2% savings. sugar or milk here. Ingredients + Straws math details: - As previously mentioned, we bought 6 pounds. a bag of tapioca pearls for $15 and 2 8 ounce tea bags for $8.99 each. When we bought these straws in June 2020, they were $5.99. The total amount is $38.97. Each bubble drink at our local tea shop is $5.00. So if you make tea at home, our purchases of ingredients + straws will pay off after 8 drinks! Straw Details: We have been using straws almost every day since the end of June 2020 (2 months). - Quality: They are comparable to the regular stainless steel straws we got for Christmas last year.
