As a mechanic with years of experience, I've learned that using the right tool for the job can mean the difference between success and failure. In the past, I've resorted to tape-wrapped spatulas or screwdrivers to remove the interior trim; with mixed results. Our 2015 Highlander recently experienced a failure in the door latch mechanism (seems to be a common problem) which required the door panel to be removed for replacement. I decided it was time to bite the bullet and purchase a set of fairing removal tools to reduce the chance of damaging the fairing. After reviewing the many sets sold at Revain, I chose this set primarily because it is well made and includes a bag to store all the pieces. The set arrived the next day (thanks Revain Prime!) and I was impressed with its apparent appearance. Quality tools and storage case. I used the door lock replacement tools yesterday and they worked great! There was more than enough choice to find the best tools for accessing various hidden fasteners. They got the job done with no obvious tool wear and most importantly no damage to the door panel. I can't attest to the longevity of a professional mechanic's kit, but I suspect they will last me a long time based on my first experience.
