Let me start by saying that if you have been wearing Skechers for a few years and are switching to them then you should not expect comfort from Skechers. I bought these because they fit me when I was looking for hiking shoes and couldn't find a pair of wide shoes that I liked. I love the look of this shoe and have had several pairs of the New Balance in the past so I was familiar with the brand. I read the reviews and saw some reviews saying they were quite comfortable so I felt confident I had a solid purchase. I didn't expect them to have the same level of comfort as the Skechers but I underestimated how different they are. These shoes are like night and day. They fit into almost everything you'd expect from a brand, but they just aren't comfortable. General. The fit was there but the insert is rubbish. After walking them for an hour, I had to take them off. My feet felt like walking barefoot on a hardwood floor. Since I really like the look, I'm keeping them, but they will definitely get a new insole. Pros - well-made, attractive shoes, sometimes wide. Cons: Not very comfortable. Update - I've been wearing them for a few weeks now and still do. not very comfortable for fast walking. They're holding up pretty well so far.
