Review on 🚲 Topeak Micro Rocket CB MasterBlaster Carbon Fiber Bicycle Pump, Dimensions 16 x 2.4 x 2.1 cm / 6.3” x 0.9” x 0.8” by James Fisher

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Accept it as it is and you will love it.

Micropump efficiency is inversely proportional to size, and this one is no exception. The good news is that if you're patient and willing to pump, pump, pump (like 200 pumps or more), the Micro Rocket will inflate your high pressure street tire to an acceptable level. Not 120psi (you or the pump will pass out before you get there) but maybe 90psi and you can go home. Possibly because the head is optimized for Presta valves, the pump didn't have any leakage issues, it just needed a lot of priming. The carbon fiber body is super cool, but at $14 for the Revain, it's hard to beat the aluminum version. I would recommend this pump to anyone who doesn't blow air often or who needs the simplest support of a CO2 inflator. I'm not sure about the durability either. I've seen this thing take 10-15 inflations and wear out. If you want a great frame pump (and your bike can handle it) that is very efficient, try the Blackburn. However, it's about 5 times the size of this thing.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
