Review on ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Inkbird ITH-10 Digital Thermometer Hygrometer Temperature Humidity Monitor for Humidors, Guitars, Ukuleles, and Mason Jars. by John Shorter

Inaccurate - Limited Reading Range

I bought this InkBird ITH-10 in the summer of 2019 along with a pack of four cheap hygrometers and used them to check the relative humidity (RH) in the room I live in I'm keeping my guitars. They all moved sequentially from 39% to 43% in close agreement with each other and with the humidifier's operation, so I figured I was getting accurate readings. no In November 2020 I bought an AcuRite 01080 and two cheap analog hygrometers and tested them all together while running the humidifier. All week the relative humidity outside was below 30, so if I turned the humidifier off and on again all the hygrometers should go up and down accordingly. It turned out that the new ones (AcuRite and similar) were a very good match and had a plausible 38% to 49% relative humidity, but the InkBird and four cheap ones never went above 43% or below 38%. Without a totally reliable (and probably expensive) hygrometer to calibrate, I can't say that AcuRite and its counterparts are accurate, but I'm sure they're much better than this because they show an increase in relative humidity with continued use of the Humidifier. . In short, this hygrometer lacks the range - it never exceeds 43% - needed to accurately indicate high humidity. Low needs more testing, but I've never let it drop below 38%, so I suspect it's not possible. Personally, I'd rather advise RH than get reassuring information that's wrong. Goes in the trash.
