I have ordered many of these hard drives, a pair of 256, 500 and 1TB. Today I got 500 GB for raid1, a few months ago I already had a second 500, and when I put two packages next to each other, I noticed that the old one has a 5-year warranty and the new one has a 3-year warranty! I've compared SKUs, model numbers and more and they are identical in every way except for the warranty. I've read the document in the box which also states the 3 year warranty but when I look at the retailers' websites, Western Digital's website, their datasheets and warranty status check, it still says 5 years. Very confusing and relative.
