I finally managed to convince my husband to unplug the cord. It was great, but we'll skip the clock on the cable box for a quick look at the time. It's surprisingly hard to find fun digital watches online, which is why I ordered one for now (until I organically found a watch I like). The first watch I received would not turn on when plugged in. I got new ones. two days later and it works perfectly. I don't have it under the TV, but on a shelf across from the dining room because it's very bright. When the light is off, the entire bottom floor of my house glows blue. I couldn't imagine using this as an alarm clock. In general though, it works like clockwork. I would rate it higher if the price was closer to $15, I don't think it's necessarily worth what I paid.
