I could no longer use the hot-released HP Elite USB-C Dock. My secondary HDMI monitor randomly turned off about every 15-20 minutes. Reset everything I'm working on on 3 screens (laptop, hdmi connected directly to laptop and hdmi connected to dock) and all my apps are reset on my laptop. and I would have to put everything back in the position I wanted them in. It interrupted my workflow more than 10 times a day. This $16 device ran for 4 consecutive days without a single flickering of the HDMI monitor connected to it. Ethernet functions or card reader functions not checked, they are not required. It mainly uses the 2nd HDMI output. And it works flawlessly, much better than a $100+ HP product.
