Review on Fluke 287 True-RMS Electronics Logging Multimeter: Simplify Your Diagnostics with Accuracy and Efficiency by Abbas Kumar

Caution: Fluke products may ship with very old or leaking batteries

Good news first. I watched dozens of YouTube videos before purchasing the Fluke 287. I was very familiar with its capabilities as soon as I turned it on. This is my first Fluke digital test tool and I'm sure it will be with me for the rest of my life. I'm deducting a star for storage issues. Now for some bad news. My recent buying experience has been far from satisfactory. This is a more expensive multimeter that only the most diligent professional or avid electronics hobbyist could consider. I'm admittedly a tool junkie and meticulous consumer of the best in class. However, my first two of three Fluke 287 purchases had to be returned for a refund. Yes, I received my third delivery today and it is what I expected. Revain's return policy is excellent but I was nervous about buying another Fluke 287. Finally the 287 arrived today in perfect condition. . This means that some vendors have old Fluke 287s that have been discarded for a very long time; One of my returns was a 2011 Fluke 287 meter. It arrived in a worn and dirty box, was missing parts and was dead on arrival with batteries that expired in 2016. The other had a manufacture date of October 2017. , but contained dead batteries that leaked into the device and fresh batteries didn't bring it back to normal. UPDATE: My review is intended to help buyers. I appreciated the product, but the buying experience was unsatisfactory. I had to return two of those meters and it's a bad experience. JuicyShop sent me a counter that didn't work right away. They apologized for the incident. However, I don't care how it happened and who is to blame. No battery-powered device may be stored in a warehouse; Years of unused without the risk of dead or leaking batteries. Maybe the manufacturer is to blame. I think Fluke intended the product to come with the batteries installed. This practice is risky as batteries occasionally leak and Fluke cannot guarantee batteries.
