We wanted to go camping in July/August but not being able to sleep was a hindrance for me. This fan really helps take the hassle out of trying to sleep hot and sweaty. We slept with it on and turned it off at night as soon as the temperature dropped. The specified operating time is correct and the fan is strong. One thing I noticed (I also bought the same fan for a family member and they said the same thing): when this fan is 100 percent charged, it seems to run. and the power will be reduced until it reaches a slightly lower state of charge. It passes quickly, but causes slight irritation. Also, we have a 10 x 10 tent and since the fan doesn't rotate you have to position it carefully to hit everyone. I tried charging it directly with a portable solar panel and for some reason it didn't work. So I just charged it with my portable generator. For me it was the best setup for our long hike. Solar charged the generator, connected the fan to the generator. During the night there was enough electricity to charge all the remaining devices. Highly recommended. Again, if you're like me, if you know you can't sleep in the heat, you won't go camping. I'm not worried about that.
