Review on Smart watch Garmin Instinct, tundra by Stanislaw Mlekodaj ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I recommend to buy, the product is of high quality.

I took a watch for swimming, tracking the weather, recording a track on a sailing yacht. And if everything is ok with the last one, then here's the rest. The worst thing is the work of the altimeter. Sometimes he thinks I'm moving up and down when I'm not. It comes to the point of absurdity - during sleep I can rise several tens of meters and descend. And just the current height "creeps away". Using auto-calibration just out the battery, but does not solve the problem. Due to incorrect operation of the altimeter, the barogram ceases to be smooth, but becomes stepped, repeating the errors of the altimeter. Tracking weather changes on it becomes like guessing from coffee grounds. But the worst begins if you decide to go to the pool. There is even a special activity that turns off the heart rate monitor (in my opinion, a purely commercial thing that forces you to buy an external heart rate monitor. The built-in one quite correctly counts the pulse in the water). But at the same time, the recording of changes in atmospheric pressure is not turned off. Meanwhile, immersion even by 1 meter leads to an increase in pressure by 98 hPa. And the clock then measures the pressure of the environment around it, regardless of whether there is water or air. That is, after swimming in the pool, a jump of tens of hPa appears on the graph, which turns the graph of changes in atmospheric pressure against the background into a perfectly straight line. After exercising in the pool, you can forget about the barometer for at least 6 hours, until this jump goes beyond. But it was possible to simply programmatically disable the recording of pressure changes when swimming in the pool was turned on, as was done with a heart rate monitor. Added a photo to make it clear about the impossibility of using the barometer after training in the pool.

Pros
  • Moisture protection heart rate monitor Holds battery well contrast screen GPS
Cons
  • Thermometer Altimeter Barometer (more on that below)
