The speakers are simply outstanding. The cost is not inconsequential at all. But despite its diminutive size, the sound is excellent: it is clear and not harsh, the bass is just right, and there is neither rumbling nor mumbling to be heard! Purchased for use in a professional setting, where the volume level is not a primary concern; yet, the headphones provide a sound that is rather loud when turned up to their full capacity, do not choke, and do not produce any additional sounds. I have a microlab solo-7 and an LG 5.1 home theater system at home; I compare the sound quality primarily with these typical systems because I don't own any super-high-fidelity audio equipment capable of producing miraculous frequency response. The controls are awkwardly positioned at the back of the device, which is a major drawback. On the other hand, if you adjust the knobs so that they are in the correct locations, you won't have to climb up there and make any adjustments. I did not notice any of the cluttered mids, high frequencies, or other frequencies, despite what many other people have written. I may advise you to correctly tune the equalizers or turn them off totally, like I did, and the sound will be quite good. While I was making my purchase at the store, I made sure not to be too lazy, and I asked the salespeople to add for comparison the defender Mercury 35 MkII and SVEN-SPS 705 speakers that I was considering purchasing based on reviews. Although SVEN has not been updated in any way for many years, the speakers continue to buzz in the same manner as before, giving the impression that you are listening to them from inside one of the tunnels. It is difficult to listen to, there are no middle ones at all, and the bass is there, but it chokes at the maximum, making it suitable for those who like to set the equalizer to Full Bass & Treble. Defender's sound is deaf, and there are no middle ones at all. For the sake of objectivity, I listened to two songs on my phone that were exactly the same while I was shopping, one for the bass and one for the vocals. Whoever pays attention to the phrase "good bass" should keep in mind that the bass is good, tight, and pleasant; however, it will not "pump" the room. If you want it to press on your chest, you should look at the acoustics that are three or more times more powerful, or at the very least, add a subwoofer. These are comparable to the Edifier R980T, albeit with a slightly increased output level. The Edifier R1100 can be understood by reading the reviews written about the Edifier R980T.
