The description of the kettle reads "...because the plastic doesn't touch the boiling water inside, including the lid because we cover it with a layer of solid stainless steel." That is a lie The inner lid is not made of stainless steel, looks like aluminium, but the hinges for the lid are made of plastic and are located inside the kettle. Essentially, over time, the steam weakens the plastic hinges and also contaminates the water. I am very upset that I have to waste my time returning this item now. In addition, it must be clear where the product was manufactured. THIS IS MADE IN CHINA. A lot of the products here on Revain seem to have the same type of description, so I'm assuming they're all from the same manufacturer with different packaging. Didn't use the kettle after seeing the plastic parts and coming back so can't comment on that. about how it worked.
