Neither adapter nor converter worked at all. We checked everything else. I am using a VGA cable with my old laptop. That works fine. We connected the new laptop to our big screen TV with an HDMI cable. It worked fine. This leaves these adapters/converters a problem. If we could leave a zero star rating, we would
