Excellent compatibility but may or may not be worth the price.

All the people who claim that the Flare X is just a memory rebrand with really good marketing are right, but that it might be true doesn't take away from it's near-universal compatibility with Ryzen (assuming it did you have before the bios date). To be honest I'm tired of trawling through QVL and forum posts looking for memory that will run with my MSI x370 Gaming Carbon Pro and Ryzen 1800x with 3200. Guess it worked exactly as described, just with XMP enabled. No need to set timings or worry about compatibility/reliability. Now it gets tricky, when I bought it it was closer to $200 than $300. This didn't make it much better than any other memory kit and saved me a lot of time looking for Ryzen compatible memory that ran at advertised speeds. The small extra I paid for the set was worth it. As of this writing the current price is $279.90, for that price I would have spent extra time researching the forum posts and QVL. So if you want my recommendation on whether or not you should buy this memory kit, I would say it depends on the price and how lazy you are. Aside from the tried and tested Ryzen experience, there's nothing special about this memory. You can get a similar kit in the same size for just under $100, or just over $100 for a 32GB memory kit. With all the hard work that has gone into updating the BIOS, finding a compatible memory kit shouldn't be difficult. If the price drops to the $230 I paid for it or less I would recommend it to anyone.
