It is small, light and very easy to use. We use a very heavy extension cord and have had no issues with heat or melting at the connection. Our previous Weasel was larger and the smaller extension heated up and melted both the glow plug and the extension itself. This one stayed cool for hours. This heater should be very close to you. The porch is covered but open and shaded behind the house. It's getting cold and I just wanted to put something next to me to warm my hands and face. It's great for this, but it can't be placed on a table 6ft away. I only use it outside so I can't comment on how it works inside. Maybe a very small area, like a bathroom. I'm happy with what I wanted it for.
