Wear them for a short hike today in nice/slightly chilly autumn weather and they won't disappoint. My old pair of damn strong socks were my favorite sock until I lost one - and these are even better with lighter cushioning. They still have good heel and toe support and match my running shoes well. I have yet to try them with boots but I think this is the perfect length for fall, winter and spring. These will probably be my new riding and hiking socks. If you walk a lot, do yourself a favor and invest in quality wool socks!
