Another quality tool from Shinwa

I have several Shinwa tools made in Japan and they are all excellent quality. The 6" 4R steel ruler is identical to my 12" 4R steel ruler from Shinwa except for the size. This one measures exactly 3/4" wide and 6" long. I've compared it to my Starrett 6" and 12" steel combo square ruler and my Shinwa 12" 4R steel ruler and the markings are accurate. Starrett Rules. However, I have used the 12" Shinwa Rule almost daily for several years and have no complaints about the finish. If it bothered me I'd go with Starrett or maybe Mitutoyo, but both seem to have just one set of numbers reading one direction on each side, and I prefer that they read both directions on each side. Mitutoyo shows pictures of everyone, but I didn't want to risk it. Finally, Shinwa leaves fingerprints, but they rub off easily and, to be honest, don't bother me that much. My Starrett rules don't have this problem. Again, z If someone is concerned about these issues, they can pay $25-$30 for a Starrett. However, I will say that both rulers in my Starrett 6" and 12" combo square are not perfectly flat on one side, while both of my Shinwa rulers are absolutely perfectly flat. I tested everything on my cast iron table saw and jointer.
