This clamp is not really for 2.25 tubes. When people talk about exhaust pipe sizes, they mean the inside diameter of the pipe, not the outside diameter. These clamps are designed for use with tubing with an outside diameter of 2.25 and an inside diameter of approximately 2.1. If you're trying to get clamps to fit a regular 2.25 muffler into a 2.25 exhaust without welding, you really need a set of 2.5" clamps because of the width of the pipe metal. These types of clamps work well in combination with some high temperature copper RTV sealants. I have used them before with good results.
