This set of 10 sanding blocks from Boshcraft is a good grit for most woodwork. I don't work with metal much so I can't comment on their use on metal. I've been using sponge sanding blocks for decades. While not suited to fine machining, they are fine for most other tasks. Sponge sanders come in particularly handy when sanding anything other than a perfectly flat surface. On a flat surface you can use an electric sander, but on uneven surfaces you'll need something that will flex with what you're trying to sand. Sponge grinders are great when you need the support of a support block but don't need the rigidity of a weight machine. In my experience, sponge sanders last a lot longer than just sandpaper. And sponge grinders wash off easily if not abused. The two grinders have built in contours useful for near finishing. The set looks good and the price is right. highlighted.
