This router worked perfectly until the warranty expired. My C4000 randomly restarted 2 months after the warranty expired. I contacted TP-Link support and followed all the troubleshooting advice they suggested and asked them to say they will replace the RMA router. Unit. In my time, I've had other companies like Corsair, ASUS, Linksys, and others replacing faulty out-of-warranty devices, so I figured TP-Link might be in the same class. IT'S NOT LIKE THIS. If you search the TP-Link forums for C4000 routers that "reboot sporadically" or "randomly" you will see the exact problem I described. These routers have a flawed design, so you should not buy them. Choose well-known brands like Netgear, ASUS or even Belkin. Therefore, look for a router that will last a long time. If it helps, I work in IT support and am pretty good at configuring and troubleshooting network devices. The unit was never "abused" and worked great until it failed, which is very common on a C4000. Pay attention to the number of 'refurbished' devices available for purchase as this is likely the reason these devices failed.
