The ring nuts on my Explorer were swollen and I had to replace them. I couldn't find any steel nuts to hold the factory caps in place. I didn't want to spend $500-$1000 on rims and tires so I decided to give it a try! They're not perfect, there's a gap between the steel wheel and the hubcaps, but they seem to be tight. Mind you, these are hubcaps and only cost $50, so I love them. I used a medium wheel setting, the small was too loose and the large didn't fit. People have problems with the metal ring hitting the valve stem and I thought I had the same problem. I actually did this until I moved the side of the ring next to the valve to the low B/D position and there were no more issues. Hope this helps, I'll update when they fly out soon.
