I don't really like hot coffee, bitter, but cold coffee is heaven for me. Just received it and in love with it. I really wanted this, so last night I made something in a jar with coffee grounds and water. When it arrived today (delivery 1 day) I poured the mixture into the coffee maker, waited for it to drain and had a cup of cold coffee. When this pot is done I will try from scratch. I need to know the ratio of coffee grounds to water, and unfortunately I also need to use decaffeinated coffee. I may have to try tea to see if I can get rid of the bitter taste. The filter was easy to clean. I use a vegetable brush on the outside of the filter to remove stuck sediment from the inside and give it a good rinse. Since the filter is stainless steel I think it will last a very long time. The carafe feels well made and sturdy and I love the black rubber base, that little detail will probably save me from bumps that might occur when transferring from the fridge to the countertop. I'll update any new information as I use it, but for now I highly recommend this for cold brew coffee.
