I have a chihuahua mix who howls all the time. I felt a lot better after purchasing this product which uses disturbing noises instead of shocking my dog to control his behavior. This product actually works as advertised and costs a lot less than a stun collar. It immediately stops doing what it's doing as soon as I press the button. A note: this also affects cats as we also have a cat at home and she ran away when we were using the remote to fix the dog. The whistle is adjustable, but I like the ease of use of the remote control more. He also loves a chew toy that helps with brushing teeth and just put treats inside. The kit comes with a clicker, which I now replace with applause when I tell him he's a good boy. All in all, I would recommend it to anyone who trains dogs. I can't say anything about the battery life yet, but it works out of the box.
