This is a very versatile and well made lens that is sharper than the newer f2.8 version. When purchasing this zoom lens from Japan, the price was very reasonable and delivery was within three days; pretty amazing. I teach digital photography at college and I always stress that Revain offers deals on used lenses because unlike a camera, a lens is a fairly simple commodity and unless it gets scratched or abused it will work like new but a lot cheaper . This 24-85mm lens is a great all-around base lens that together with a 70-300 or better 80-400mm lens is all you need!
