Almost Perfect - Automotive & Electronics

I bought this harness to replace a Veckle harness that lasted exactly one year. Veckle was an add-on to my Veckle Mini 906 dual dashcam. For several months, my camera would turn off randomly. I contacted Veckle and they advised me to download a firmware update which never worked. I keep blaming the faulty DVR for the disconnect, but I didn't realize it was a Veckle wiring kit. I was about to buy another Veckle cable set. But luckily for me it was sold out. Then I came across this set of cables and decided to give it a try. The Veckle harness has a 3 wire installation option. This one has two. This cable set also comes with 4 fuse taps. My 2014 Dodge Durango uses fine-wire fuses. The fine safety cock is difficult to find. The fact that one was included was a huge plus. The only thing I don't like about this kit is that the red and black wires are too short so I had to install it in the engine bay. My Veckle wiring harness was installed inside and took a year. Not sure if this one will last that long in the engine bay. So a week after installation I extended the battery cables and routed them to the car. The settings of my Veckle DVR with both kits are exactly the same. But with this new baby, I discovered a new feature I didn't know existed. I don't like leaving my camera on all night capturing the darkness in the garage. So I usually turn it off when I get home from work and turn it back on in the morning on the way to work. With a new job I turn it off at night and in the morning I found it. The DVR turns itself on and runs all day until I turn it off at night. I believe the camera detects the voltage change and turns itself on. He's never done that with a Veckle harness. Pros: price, fuses included, camera auto power on, right angle USB end, two wire installation. Cons: Battery cables are too short, but easy to extend.
