Review on HERO 72 Watercolor Pencils: Vibrant Colors for Art Students & Professionals - Set of 72 by Jennifer Roberts

A variety of colors at a good price

These watercolor pencils came in a metal box with two tiers of pencils. One level was down and the other up. When I started working with pencils I realized that the pencils were wrong. So I spent some time arranging them according to the printed chart on the inside of the metal box lid. Once I did that, it became very easy to pick the specific colors I wanted. As with all colored pencils, actual lead color may not match colored tip. However, the names of each watercolor pencil seemed to identify the colors well. It helped me too. Here's how I was able to use these pencils: I took the top tier of pencils and placed them on the open inside. This way it was easier to get to both tiers of pins. When I wasn't sure what shade I was looking for, I just pulled the top layer back for a moment and looked at the color names. It worked very well. I highly recommend these pens. There are many colors for the price. And they seem to be well colored, giving a bright colorful hue. I also noticed that when I add water with a brush, the colors blend well. I've learned that it's best not to add too much water or the colors will fade. When that happened I just colored in more with a pencil. I used a Prismacolor pencil sharpener to sharpen the tips of my pencils and found the leads didn't break. Seems well sharpened.
