I'm only considering this for floors as that's what I use it for. Luckily there are assembly instructions (easy to assemble) and most importantly how to attach the swivel. There is a lower ring just above the mop head which protects the swivel joint from uncontrolled movement of the mop head. Simply twist the plastic ring a quarter turn to secure the swivel. It will stay there for my use. Even after "locking" and tightening the hex nut at the end of the handle with wrenches, there is some play, but it doesn't affect floor cleaning. The pads are attached with velcro which is nice/convenient. It looks like these are good quality pads. They are advertised as being easy to clean. The handle can be longer, or an additional "extension" piece can be provided for an additional foot or so in length. For a 5ft 7in person using a mop on the floor, the length of the handle is perfectly acceptable.
