I bought this after learning how to turn on my CPAP machine when camping - I have a ResMed S9 with a 24v input I chose one for a number of reasons Inverter decided: A. The DC adapter costs about $100. B. I would get more benefit in many other applications with an inverter. for about half the price. I've read that a DC adapter would be more efficient as it would draw less power, while the inverter option is less efficient as it basically takes DC, converts it to AC and then back to DC. Then I read about the need for a "pure sine wave" inverter for all sensitive electrical equipment eg: phone, computer, my CPAP (because it has a "computer" built in). After weighing all the information for and against, I figured this might suit my needs and pulled the trigger. I hooked the inverter up to a 12v deep cycle marine battery and was able to run my CPAP and fully charge my phone for 3 nights with no problems - I might have gotten more (who knows how much more) but I decided mine Charging the battery for the 4th day was a mistake out of caution. So if you're in the same boat as me - don't worry - GET IT!
